Open the extension link in a new tab/window

I would like to propose an option to open an extension link in a new tab/window. Currently, it opens in the same window when clicking on an external link under Extensions. Consequently, the users lost their portal page. There should be a toggle to choose if the link should be opened in a new tab/window.
